Welcome to the BOLDLY Coach Spotlight! We’re excited to introduce Coach Louise, a leadership development coach and career empowerment expert with over two decades of experience in corporate leadership and coaching. Louise holds an ICF - PCC coaching accreditation and is based in Winnipeg, Canada. Let's find out more about Louise!

1. Can you tell us about your coaching journey? What inspired you to become a coach, and how has your practice evolved over the years?

My coaching journey started when I actually needed my own coach. After more than two decades climbing the corporate ladder, I found myself burned out and deeply misaligned with the work I was doing. I was successful on paper, but my heart wasn’t in it. Hiring a career coach changed everything—it helped me see a new path and introduced me to a profession I hadn’t even considered. From that moment, I knew coaching was what I was meant to do. I wanted to help others who felt stuck, guiding them toward careers that truly fit who they are.

Over the years, my practice has evolved to take a more holistic approach. Career decisions don’t happen in isolation—they’re influenced by life stages, identity shifts, and overall well-being. That realization led me to create Pivoting Point Career Solutions, where I help midlife women step into careers that align with their values and priorities. More recently, I launched Menomentum, a movement dedicated to normalizing conversations about menopause in the workplace. Because let’s be honest—career success and well-being are deeply connected, and it’s time we start addressing that in a meaningful way.

2. What are the core values or principles that guide your coaching practice, and how do they influence the way you work with clients?

At the heart of my coaching practice are clarity, curiosity, confidence, and alignment. I believe every career decision should start with a strong sense of self—understanding what truly matters, trusting your strengths, and making choices that honor your values.

Midlife is a powerful stage of reinvention, but it also requires compassion and space to rediscover who we are and who we want to become. We change at midlife and we go through all kinds of transitions - sometimes all at the same time. Kids leave home, parents require care, relationships change, and our relationship with our identity shifts. I create that space for my clients to reconnect with who they are now while also providing the practical strategies they need to move forward. My coaching isn’t just about finding the next job—it’s about designing a career (and life) that feels right.

3. Are there any specific techniques or frameworks you use in your coaching that set your practice apart? How do these benefit your clients?

I blend positive psychology, narrative coaching, metaphor, and strengths-based career development to help clients gain clarity and take confident action.

One of my core tools is The Career Alignment Framework, which helps clients assess where their current role supports—or limits—their growth, values, and long-term aspirations. It's a structured yet flexible approach that guides clients through self-discovery, career strategy, and action. This method empowers them to articulate their value, explore new possibilities, and take bold steps toward meaningful career change—whether that’s a promotion, a pivot, or a fresh start in a new field.

4. What are the most common challenges or themes you see emerging in coaching engagements today, especially in 2025? How are these influenced by the current professional and cultural landscape?

One of the biggest themes in 2025 is career sustainability. Professionals are no longer just chasing career success—they want work that supports their well-being, energy, and long-term fulfillment. Burnout, disengagement, and the desire for more purpose-driven careers are more common than ever.

The world feels uncertain right now, and that uncertainty is forcing people to rethink their careers. Many of my clients are asking: Who do I want to be in this next stage? How do I want to show up? Where do I have control over my path and progression? These questions aren’t always easy to answer, but they are essential.

Another challenge is navigating career shifts in a rapidly changing job market. AI and automation are transforming industries, and many professionals worry about staying relevant. My role as a coach is to help them see their transferable skills, build career resilience, and adapt with confidence.

For women in midlife, menopause needs to become part of the workplace conversation, and there’s still a long way to go. That’s why I’m passionate about helping organizations build menopause-friendly workplaces while also coaching women through this transition, so they can continue to thrive in their careers.

5. How do you incorporate research-backed practices or psychology into your coaching sessions to ensure impactful outcomes for your clients?

My coaching is grounded in evidence-based strategies, drawing from positive psychology, behavioral science, and career development research. I integrate tools like:

  • Strengths assessments to help clients understand and leverage what they do best.
  • Values-based coaching exercises to clarify what truly matters to them.
  • Cognitive reframing techniques to shift limiting beliefs and build career confidence.

One of the most powerful strategies I use is growth mindset coaching, helping clients reframe setbacks as learning opportunities. I also integrate self-compassion practices to counteract imposter syndrome and career-related anxiety—both of which are especially common among high-achieving professionals.

6. What outcomes or transformations do your clients typically experience, and how do you measure success in your coaching engagements?

The biggest transformation my clients experience is a renewed sense of confidence and direction. Many come to me feeling stuck or uncertain, and through our work, they gain clarity, articulate their value with confidence, and take bold action toward careers that truly fit.

Success isn’t just about landing a job—it’s about creating a work life that feels aligned and fulfilling. Some clients secure promotions, others successfully pivot into new industries, and some even redesign their current roles to better suit their strengths and priorities.

I don’t measure success—my clients do. They walk away with both tangible results—like job offers, career transitions, and salary increases—and internal shifts, such as increased confidence, reduced stress, and a stronger sense of purpose.

Because at the end of the day, true success isn’t just about what you do—it’s about how you feel in the work you do every day. And seeing my clients thrive in careers that truly light them up? That’s the ultimate win.
