I shaped strategic communications to meet programmatic objectives, trained senior leadership on speechwriting and media engagement, and supported the strategic vision for USAID's corporate communications worldwide. Earlier in my career, I served as Chief of the Strategy and Budget Division in Pakistan, where I managed a high-performing team responsible for strategy, planning, analysis, and budgeting for a foreign assistance portfolio valued at $4.5 billion. I cultivated relationships with the Pakistan Ministry of Planning and Development and provided analysis that enabled leadership to articulate budget priorities to Congress and the Department of State. As Country Director for Belarus, I coordinated programming across four countries during a period of significant political upheaval, successfully advocating for additional funding to support civil society and independent media. In the Caribbean, I guided USAID's regional response to COVID-19 while implementing the agency's Climate Change Strategy across 11 countries. In Egypt, I supported the Economic Growth team in programming an additional $100 million to respond to post-Revolution development needs, resulting in more than 20 new awards. These experiences taught me how to lead under pressure, make high-stakes decisions with incomplete information, and support teams through uncertainty while maintaining focus on mission-critical objectives.
