Experience as a psychotherapist taught him the complexity of human relationships and the challenges of change. Co-owning and directing a preschool with after care and summer day camp added a level of understanding of a leader’s challenges managing staff and working with clients who were concerned parents. Realizing the common thread of his career path had been promoting growth and development, from very young children through adults, Steve added professional coach training to his portfolio. As a coach, he works with individuals on career transition or career development, with business leaders, and with self-employed small business owners on a path of personal and professional development who want to reach meaningful goals. He shares his knowledge and expertise on human development, relationships and systems, motivation, and change from various fields that comprise positive psychology, including developmental psychology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, and neuroscience. I bring over 16 years of senior leadership experience across healthcare systems in Canada and the GCC, including executive-level roles leading clinical operations, organizational transformation, quality improvement, and large-scale service redesign. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in highly complex environments spanning hospitals, primary care, community health, and integrated care systems. My leadership experience has included overseeing multidisciplinary teams, leading system-wide transformation initiatives, improving operational performance, and supporting organizations through periods of significant growth, pressure, and change. Over time, my work increasingly evolved beyond operational leadership into supporting leaders themselves — helping them navigate complexity, competing priorities, leadership transitions, and organizational pressure more effectively. Alongside my executive leadership roles, I’ve coached VPs, Directors, Managers, physicians, and leadership teams across areas including leadership development, strategic clarity, communication, emotional intelligence, burnout prevention, performance improvement, and leading through change. I also have experience facilitating team and group coaching conversations focused on alignment, collaboration, and leadership effectiveness. What differentiates my background is the combination of: real-world executive leadership experience formal executive coach training and ACC certification and deep operational understanding of high-pressure systems where leadership decisions directly impact people, teams, and organizational outcomes. My coaching approach is grounded, practical, and reflective. I understand the realities leaders face because I’ve experienced them firsthand — balancing competing priorities, leading through uncertainty, managing transformation, navigating stakeholder dynamics, and making difficult decisions under pressure. In addition to my coaching credentials, I hold multiple professional certifications including: Associate Certified Coach (ACC) Certified Executive Coach Certified Health Executive (CHE) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) I also completed executive education at Harvard Medical School focused on leading digital transformation in healthcare. Professionally, I’ve led initiatives involving operational redesign, digital transformation, service integration, quality and patient safety improvement, leadership development, and organizational performance enhancement. My work has often required balancing strategic thinking with human-centered leadership in environments experiencing rapid change and increasing complexity. What I value most in coaching is creating a space where leaders can step back from constant operational demands, think more clearly, challenge assumptions, and move forward with greater intention and confidence. My style is thoughtful, direct, collaborative, and grounded in both executive experience and ICF coaching principles. Today, I work with leaders who are often highly capable and already performing at a high level, but who are navigating increasing complexity, pressure, transition, or transformation. I help them strengthen clarity, leadership effectiveness, decision-making, and resilience while remaining aligned with who they want to be as leaders.
In 2020, I discovered what I was meant to do when I enrolled in my first Coach training program. Prior to this, I held a variety of positions in the sustainability sector, from project executive for a CSR initiative in an MNC, strategic consultant to NGOs to General manager in a social enterprise. Nonetheless, I could never find deep satisfaction for the impact I was making. Since there were so many parties involved in these jobs that were outside my control, I found myself burnt out and frustrated. I have always wanted something more impactful that can address the root causes of the issues humanity is facing and I can be solely responsible for generating this impact with who I am and what I have. Coaching enables me to turn my natural tendency into a skill set and process that creates a profound impact on a person’s life. After just one session, they undoubtedly feel more in control, but the partnership process is necessary to help them maximize their potential and become their best selves. The key factor that facilitates my transformation, surprisingly, is self-love. I wouldn't be able to overcome my own self-doubt, uncertainty, and outside criticism to make the tough decisions that ultimately lead me down a path that is genuinely soul-fulfilling if I didn't love myself. What stops us from embracing our dreams is rarely external circumstances, but the limiting beliefs we carry inside. Self-love is a verb, a choice, and a skill that can be mastered over time. At the end of 2020, I founded my own Coaching business, with a desire to spread positive change. If I can transform myself through self-love, I can replicate this process for my clients with Coaching. I’m proud to have helped hundreds of clients break free from social norms to practice self-love, commit to their own journey, shine as they are, and make an impact in their community.
