My early career experience marketing late-stage tech start-ups brought me to the UK in the '90s. While there I transitioned into consulting with larger, more established European tech companies, undertook extensive personal and professional development, then returned to the US and trained as a coach with the largest dedicated coach training organization in the world, The Coaches Training Institute, to put that development work to good use. I now work across the US, Europe, and into Asia, having developed an international practice as thinking partner and catalyst to leaders (including non-traditional or unconventional leaders*) who want to develop leadership presence, hone communication skills, and increase self-awareness and emotional intelligence in order to create the impact, results, and future they envision. My creativity, capacity for innovation, and intuition are grounded in years of practical experience; I am particularly drawn to innovators and thought leaders. I help my clients expand their capacity to lead with a growth mindset, develop a coaching approach to management, and build and lead inclusive teams. I have coached 1. Executives and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to step into higher-level roles and improved team management 2. Leaders creating and growing business streams and processes 3. High potentials confronting bullies, navigating organizational politics, and transitioning from subject matter experts into leadership. 4. Business owners to triple their revenue and achieve profitability My coaching has impacted leaders and high potentials in tech, financial services, education, health, FMCG consumer goods, manufacturing, sciences, pharma, professional services, arts, media, B2B, and B2C, in organizations of all sizes from start-ups and early-stage companies and initiatives, through mid-sized to some of our largest global behemoths. I have worked with private clients from Japan, Peru, Korea, Mexico, Israel, England, Sweden, Trinidad, Ghana, Canada, the UAE, China, Russia, and across the United States. Having completed more than 3000 coaching hours, I am now completing my MCC (Master Certified Coach) certification with the ICF (International Coach Federation). Finally, I am a certified practitioner in the Leadership Circle Profile, the Innovation Strengths Preferences Indicator® (ISPI™), and have co-created customized 360 evaluations with my clients. ----------------- *I call such non-traditional leaders Gifted Outliers – the often highly-intelligent folks who engage with the world differently than others, who make connections and see opportunities where others don’t, and who may struggle to have the impact of which they are so capable. This includes engineers and tech folks with underdeveloped and undervalued people-management skills; women in male-dominated environments; people of color; highly sensitive people (www.hsperson.com) and other leaders – from the side, from behind, from positions of influence but not power – who’ve not yet fully recognized their capacity. I help these Gifted Outliers find their voice and expand their awareness of themselves, their stakeholders, & their impact.

A former Head of High Performance in elite sport, including professional rugby union, International field hockey and rugby, and University sport. in August 2024 I repositioned to Team and Performance Coaching in the non-sporting world. I am ICF ACC qualified. My coaching is not only supported by a rich history of helping athletes navigate change and master their performance, but through a deep understanding and curiosity around internal motivation, purpose, accountability and presence. My coaching techniques are the combination of evidence and experience from a variety of sources, meaning I do not rely on my personal experiences and historical challenges as the foundation for YOUR journey. If you remember anything - please let it be this: I am on your team. I am in your corner. I will help you find and achieve your own version of a brighter future.
I am an executive and leadership coach on a mission to help leaders build “good businesses” – organisations where people consistently outperform expectations, feel highly engaged, collaborate deeply, and can sustain high performance without burning out. For more than 17 years, I worked inside a multinational construction holding, shifting from large infrastructure projects into HR consulting and then into a centre‑of‑expertise role for leadership development, talent management, and learning & development. Leading in a male‑dominated industry taught me how to speak to senior power holders, influence complex stakeholders, and still protect my own wellbeing. It also showed me that business success is meaningless if people are exhausted in the process. In 2017 I founded a boutique consulting company in Qatar, now based in Germany, serving leaders and teams who want their organisations to grow healthier and perform better. I focus on “high flow” leadership and teamwork: helping clients regain focus, unlock peak performance, and create the freedom to thrive in all areas of life – and then cascade those behaviours across their teams. My clients include senior leaders from household‑name Silicon Valley tech brands, global oil and gas companies, consumer goods companies, luxury brands, and consulting firms. Across all of them, the work is the same: translating ambition into sustainable performance, psychological safety, and measurable business outcomes. Selected qualifications and experience: B.Sc. Business Administration; M.Sc. Management & Marketing; M.Sc. HRM & Organisational Development 10+ years in people development for high‑potentials and leaders; 10+ years in behavioural assessment and development centres 6+ years coaching, 600+ hours of coach‑specific training ICF Associate Certified Coach, ESBA Systemic Coach, High Flow Leadership Coach, Positive Intelligence / Mental Fitness Coach, Integrative Enneagram Accredited Practitioner, and multiple additional certifications in conscious business and leadership

Hi, my name is Yasu. Nice to meet you! Let me self-introduce. With 25+ years’ professional experience in branding, marketing communication, business innovation and leadership development, I customize my intervention while blending teaching, coaching and torching my clients for new business creation and organizational change. I am currently a founder / representative director of Tokyo-based innovation boutique firm since its establishment in 2016, leading projects both with international and domestic clients to generate creative business ideas while nurturing entrepreneurial and innovative talents whom I call “The Playful Ants” within the client team. I also have been working as a partner faculty of Globis School of Management since 2020, delivering customized executive education programs to approximately 500 business leaders and managers every year. Talking about my early career over 10 years, I worked at PwC (Consultant), Interbrand (Strategic Planner) and Saatchi & Saatchi (Planning Director). Then, I decided to go on to MBA program at Cornell University, NY, with my wife and a daughter. I majored in sustainable global enterprise immersion with focus on market creation strategies and creative design. After the graduation, I was unexpectedly offered the job to work within Cornell as an internal consultant. I took the offer and have been also working as Managing Director of Market Creation Strategies at the Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University, where I developed and supervised business innovation projects in Japan, US, India, Bangladesh, Philippines, Mozambique and Nigeria through creative and sustainable solutions for both international and Japanese clients. In my past projects, I experienced many successes, but honestly speaking, more failures even with the clients which had great resources. From my experiences, I realized what's truly important is not just to develop the great product idea and business plan, but also to develop the great talents and culture within the clients. That's how I decided to incorporate business coaching technique into my projects. I wanted to back up my practical business coaching with academic theory and knowledge, so I completed my Executive Master in Change program at INSEAD in 2019. After that, I have been working on my executive PhD program in organizational psychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since 2021 with my research theme in “Play in Organization.” My recent publication includes “Identity Playground in Organization: Encouraging intrapersonal heterogeneity while controlling interpersonal heterogeneity”, Academy of Management Proceedings, Vol. 2023. Also, I published my first book “The Playful Ants ‒ the Way of Work and Life of Boundary-Spanning Talents who Change the Society in Small and Playful Ways” (EB publishing) in December 2022. I believe the power of teaching (sharing new framework / knowledge), coaching (navigating autonomous action) and torching (motivating and encouraging people) and customize the solution mixing those approaches through dialogue with the clients. So, if you are interested in discussing how we can work together to make meaningful impacts for your organization, please feel free to reach out to me!

Through coaching, we uncovered relationships and forces among involved parties and how they impacted each other; my client became aware of his space of responsibility and how he could impact others by changing his own behavior. By re-evaluating the interdependencies between thoughts, emotions and actions he was able to make amendments and thus changing power dynamics. Coach to a Senior Head of Apparel Development of a sports company who was given the opportunity to upskill his leadership skill for an anticipated promotion into a truly global role. For the new role it was essential to develop from a regional to a global role in which remote leadership skills as well as organizational redesign of his department were key. Through real life challenges my client worked on his global presence and learnt to authentically manage diverse expectations, professionally as well as organizationally. Coached Managing Director of a Japanese entity in Germany (phone coaching sessions) on becoming a coach approach leader during an 8 months leadership development programme. My client not only appreciated the personal journey but valued the space and feedback and empowering mindset Iris provided him with to grow and expand his potential. Becoming a great engineer and project manager or any other skilled professional takes time, focus, and a lot of mental clarity. What is missing is what they don't have time to teach you about other people. Communication. Collaboration. Cooperation. Sounds familiar, right? But for some of us, these things do not necessarily come naturally, and they are important skills that we need to fully develop as professionals and leaders. Whilst we can learn to become technically proficient, we can overlook the value of self-awareness, and how to relate better to others. Don't despair - there is a good reason why engineers and professionals are good at what they do - and thank goodness for those skills and attention to detail. What Tony has discovered is the importance of continued self development, particularly in the areas of relational skills, leadership skills, and team building. The journey to becoming a better leader, and the path to better understanding your own personality is important both for personal and professional growth. Tony specializes in coaching professional men and women who want to identify what is holding them back. When we learn to understand our own personality, we can then learn to relate better to others. Tony loves the challenge to help someone make the transformation into a more successful version of themselves. Whether the change you are seeking is to achieve greater professional development, or just simply personal growth, Tony has the skills and the coaching experience to help you overcome those challenges that are holding you back.
