I'm currently wearing a number of hats - managing my own business; senior consultant for an early management learning and development program; senior coach and facilitator for several coaching organizations. I coach in the areas of Executive & Leadership Development, Personal Accountability, Leadership Agility, Transformational, and Skills & Performance Coaching helping Leaders to become more effective, inspire their people and exceed the expectations of their stakeholders. Working at the leadership level allows me to engage with people who cast the widest possible shadow on the organisations they work for and thus any shifts they make are significantly amplified. My Philosophy of coaching is: • believing that everyone has within them the resources to be or do anything that they desire, even though they may not be conscious of those resources. I see my role as helping them to access those internal resources and to eliminate the limiting beliefs that subconsciously are often what is stopping them from becoming the best they can be. • assisting my clients to define a desired future state and to construct a pathway in both thinking and behaviour that assists them in achieving that. I recognise that people undergo significant changes in themselves and the way they make meaning of their experiences as they progress through life, so I focus on helping clients increase wellbeing, enhance and apply strengths, improve performance, and achieve valued goals. • I am professional, engaging and empathic whilst providing a safe space for clients to explore “what’s stopping them” from achieving their desired outcomes. I also systematically support and challenge clients to fulfil their commitments and to be the best they can be. My Initial occupation was as a Navigation Officer in the Merchant Navy, this was followed by 23 years in the Oil & Gas Industry including 5 years as the Operations Manager of the Hides Gasfield in PNG & 4 years as Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Adviser with Woodside Pty Ltd. In 2003 I set up my own Company and subcontracted to a variety of Companies including McKinsey & Co, delivering Facilitated Transformational Workshops to their clients around the world. In 2007 I started training & practicing to become a coach. I was awarded my Diploma of Professional Coaching in 2008 and my Professional Coach Certificate by the ICF in 2011. I have accrued more than 2,790 hours coaching more 345 clients. I have also served on the International Coach Federation of Australasia (ICFA) Professional Standards Committee, the ICF Global Coaching Supervision Task Force, and the ICF Global Coach Mentoring Task Force. After enjoying a successful law and mediation practice for three decades, Rachel founded RBG Consulting, where she specializes in leadership and communication coaching, facilitating difficult conversations between two or more people, and teaching workshops and courses on topics related to communication and conflict management. Rachel’s clients include executive leaders, emerging leaders, attorneys, organizational teams, Boards and committees, professional groups, and family members.
